ROCHESTER - The Stanton E & M Elaine Tefft Foundation announced recently that Ainsley Dion, a Spaulding High School senior from the class of 2023, has earned the prestigious Tefft Foundation award, which includes a grant of $1,000 for her dedication and remarkable performance in Track & Field.

Founded in 2005, the Tefft Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to recognizing high school seniors for their remarkable contributions to preserving and promoting cultural heritage. With a particular focus on Civil Rights, Jazz Music, and Track & Field, the Foundation aims to celebrate and support the next generation of leaders who embody the values of these important areas of society. Initially limited to seniors from Concord High School, the Foundation has expanded eligibility to include 11 high schools across New Hampshire.

During the Senior Awards evening at Spaulding High School on May 17, Mrs. Elaine Tefft, representative of the Tefft Foundation, commended Dion's talent by stating, "Ainsley excels in more than track & field performance; she is an active part of the Student Athlete Leadership Team. And she sings."

The Foundation encourages eligible high school juniors and seniors, as well as their families, teachers, and guidance counselors, to apply for future awards. Organizers seek to go beyond the conventional essay-based applications and emphasize the practical promotion of fundamental rights such as voting, free speech, and fostering an appreciation for jazz music -- an extraordinary American art form.
