State Police K9 unit helps locate missing elderly Portsmouth woman

PORTSMOUTH - A 76-year-old Portsmouth woman who went missing Tuesday morning was found later in the day after an extensive search that included a State Trooper K9 unit.

Police got involved around noon after they received a report of an elderly woman who had gone missing.

Portsmouth Police feared that the women was lost and unable to find her way home, Trooper First Class Kevin Devlin responded with Trooper First Class Brian Gacek and Trooper Seth Parker from the Troop A barracks to join in the search.

Devlin and his partner, K-9 Wyatt, along with Troopers from Troop A began searching for the missing female in the area of Banfield Road, where she was last seen.

After a lengthy search, the missing female was located safely, around 1.1 miles away by K-9 Wyatt.
