EAST LEBANON - An East Lebanon teen escaped serious injury Saturday night when the truck he was driving went off the road and struck a telephone pole, splitting it in two.

The accident occurred around 9:30 about three-quarters of a mile west of Little River Road on Route 202 amid sporadic snow squalls and slickened roads.

A Dodge pickup truck was determined to have been traveling eastbound when it lost control and struck the telephone pole head on.
