ROCKINGHAM COUNTY - Law enforcement agencies from Seacoast communities on Tuesday announced the results of a joint effort to deter impaired driving during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend including from Wednesday-Sunday:
- 23 arrests were made during the effort on charges including DWI, speed, reckless driving, and warrants/other violations.
- 446 vehicles were stopped by law enforcement.
- 408 warnings were issued.
- 53 summonses were issued.
The above results were due to a collaborative effort to keep New Hampshire's roadways safe, according to a statement sent on Tuesday from the Dept. of Safety. The results were provided by participants in the enforcement effort, including the New Hampshire State Police and police departments from the communities of Brentwood, East Kingston, Exeter, Fremont, Greenland, Hampton, Newmarket, North Hampton, Portsmouth and Stratham.
The effort was funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) through grants issued by the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety (NHOHS).
