To the editor:

I still treasure wisdom from an old time gospel song planted in my mind as a child: "What is a mother's love dear friend, what is a mother's love? It's deeper than the deep blue sea and reaches from heaven above."

Many years ago, my life was powerfully impacted by the eternal truth that "the hand that rocks the cradle rules the earth." Recently, I was blessed to hear the words of a home schooling mom expressing the love of a mother on her way to visit her daughter in college, "I'm over the moon, we're visiting Kate today."

Growing up without a mom, I suppose I've been a collector of such love in action - my wife blessing our family with unlimited love for our children, simply following the model of her mom, myself blessed to witness the love of a grandmother for my four children.

The hand that rocks the cradle still rules, but no longer is Western Civilization blessed with enough moms being moms. We can only remember the source and strength and wisdom of our Founding Fathers - learning to read from the Holy Bible on their mother's knee. Today, with all the successful women as entrepreneurs and their powerful brilliant achievements outside the home, I wonder if women today don't realize the impact that can be made in their own homes; for it was dedicated women teaching children, who taught the Founding Fathers how to lead.

We as a nation have been blessed with strong women rocking the cradle for liberty. For morality must once again become the master to control the behavior of our citizens. George Washington's power, love and appreciation for his mother is a model to provide the strength for America to stand up and fight for liberty.

My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am, I owe to my mother. I attribute my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.
