DOVER - The jury trial for a former East Rochester man accused of second degree assault continues today in Strafford Superior Court
Terrance T. Sleweon, formerly of 931 Portland St., East Rochester, is facing up to seven years for allegedly strangling a female household or family member on Nov. 25, 2021.
According to his February 2022 indictment, Sleweon "placed both hands around her neck and applied pressure, causing her to experience impeded breathing, blood flow or change of voice."
According to a Rochester Police affidavit, the alleged victim told police she had been strangled by her father.
A nurse from Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua who first treated the alleged victim said she had bloodshot eyes and marks around her neck and that her face was "purple and puffy around the eyes," which are all signs of strangulation.
Sleweon's journey to the jury has been a long, complicated slog. He has had jury trials in the case scheduled in Strafford Superior Court for March of 2023, May of 2024 and January and May of this year.
The trial is expected to wrap up on Thursday.
