ROCHESTER - A two-vehicle crash on Portland Street resulted in injury to two people on Friday.

The collision occurred on Portland Street near Grove Street Road when police say Tony Carr, 54, of Berwick, Maine, was driving north in a 2011 GMC Sierra.

Police say as he was turning left into a driveway his vehicle crashed nearly head-on into a 2015 Honda CRV operated by Samantha Drain, 23, of Strafford, who was headed south.

Both Carr and Drain were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for what were described as nonlife threatening injuries. Carr was not wearing his seat belt and his vehicle airbag deployed, while Drain was wearing her seat belt; her vehicle airbag did deploy.

Both vehicles were damaged and towed from the scene. Portland Street between Grove Street and Cocheco Avenue was closed for more than an hour during the investigation and removal of the vehicles.

Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact Officer Labosier at the Rochester Police Department, 603-330-7127.
