DOVER - Two Rochester residents and a local transient are all facing up to seven years in state prison after indictments were handed down in a burglary and theft at the Hi-Vu Motor Inn last September.
Shannon Barratt, 44, with a last known address of Pleasant Street, Rochester; Cory Deshong, 35, formerly of Gonic, now residing at Strafford County Jail; and Brianna Gammon, 36, a local transient, are all accused in a Sept. 1 break-in at the Hi-Vu Motor Inn in Rochester.
According to court paperwork, the three are all accomplices in a planned robbery from someone occupying a room at the motel during which a man was assaulted and a vehicle allegedly stolen by Gammon, who soon after the incident was stopped by police on Route 11 in New Durham and charged with being a habitual offender.
Gammon is facing three and half to seven years in state prison on a theft by unauthorized taking charge and one to five years on the habitual offender charge. She was certified as a habitual offender in January 2023.
Deshong and Barratt are charged as accomplices in the break-in at the motel.
The February grand jury indictments were handed down on Feb. 20 and released to the public today.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been presented to a grand jury to warrant moving forward to trial.
