STODDARD - Two Concord teens were seriously injured early this morning when the vehicle they were in collided with a logging truck in Stoddard.

The crash occurred around 4:45 a.m. on Route 9 in Stoddard in the area of a nearby logging site.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Kelsey P. Mayer, 18, of Concord was traveling west approaching the logging site just as a 2016 Western Star tractor-trailer operated by Donald J. Warner, 44, of Antrim was preparing to back into the site.

Both Mayer and their passenger, Allison M. Yanski, 19, of Concord, had to be extricated by emergency personnel. Mayer sustained serious life-threatening injuries in the crash and was transported by ambulance to Concord Hospital. Yanski was transported by ambulance to Cheshire Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Warner was uninjured.

Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop C Barracks were assisted at the scene by members of Troop G, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR) Unit, the Stoddard Fire Department, the Keene Fire Department, the Sullivan Fire Department, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, Diluzio Ambulance, and Peterborough Ambulance.

Route 9 was closed for more than six hours while responders documented and cleared the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Eric Torrens of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at (603) 545-4396 or Eric.M.Torrens@dos.nh.gov.
