CONCORD - Governor Kelly Ayotte and law enforcement leaders celebrated Wednesday when New Hampshire was again ranked as the safest state in the nation in U.S. News & World Report's 2025 "Best State" rankings.
"I'm proud that New Hampshire once again ranks #1 for public safety -- a testament to the dedicated men and women at every level of law enforcement," said Governor Ayotte. "Thank you to all those who keep us safe each day and help make our state the best place to live, work, and raise a family. Together, we will continue to protect our communities, recruit and retain the best officers, and ensure New Hampshire remains the safest state in the nation."
"This achievement is a reflection of the hard work, professionalism, and commitment of our State Troopers, public safety partners, and communities across the Granite State," echoed New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall.
The Granite State was ranked #2 overall for Best State in the Nation and also ranks #1 for economic opportunity. View the full rankings report here.
