
ROCHESTER - Rochester's Union Street Parking Lot refurbishment will continue on Monday with SUR mobilizing on the premesis to continue the project.
The project, budgeted at $1.75 million, aims to improve both functionality and environmental sustainability, according to a statement released by the city on Thursday.
The lot's capacity will increase slightly and will include handicapped-accessible and electric vehicle charging spots, as well as a consolidated dumpster corral for nearby businesses and residents.
Significant environmental upgrades include bioretention basins, tree filter boxes, and a closed drainage system designed to manage stormwater runoff and protect the nearby Cocheco River.
