LEBANON – The car involved in a rollover on Lower Guinea Road last Wednesday had been stolen prior to the crash, according to Maine State Police.

When Rescue crews first arrived around 10 p.m. they found the vehicle abandoned.

Maine State Police Trooper Adam Schmidt said on Sunday that the car had been stolen from the Hatfield Pond area of Berwick earlier in the day on Wednesday.

The vehicle was towed from the rollover scene.

State Police turned the investigation over to Berwick Police, Schmidt said.

Regarding an earlier Wednesday accident at the corner of Hubbard Road and Route 202 between a car and a motorcycle, Schmidt said no citations had been issued. He said that the car stopped at a red light and the motorcycle rear-ended it.
