ROCHESTER - Virginia "Ginni" McGee, 64, died peacefully in her home in Rochester on May 10. She was a beloved sister, aunt, godmother, and friend. Ginni grew up in Melrose, Mass., and was a graduate of St. Mary's School, Melrose High School, and Salem State College. Growing up, she was active in Campfire Girls, the Lieutenant Norman Prince Drum & Bugle Corps, and the Melrose Assembly of Rainbow for Girls. Ginni enjoyed camping and swimming in New Hampshire, taking family trips to Florida, and attending Red Sox and Bruins games.
Her career took her to Boston, Maryland, and Rhode Island. She completed her career as an Executive Assistant in the Chemistry Department at Brown University. She retired in Rochester, where she indulged her love of the seacoast, perfected her cooking skills, traveled, read extensively, and enjoyed time with friends and family.
Ginni is the daughter of the late Bernard McGee of Everett, Mass., and Helen (Madden) McGee of Medford, Mass. She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Kathie Leveson of Laurence Harbor, N.J.; Laura Kane of Kiawah Island, S.C.; and Carolyn McGee of Alexandria, Va.; her godson Colin Kane of Boston; brothers-in-law Scott Leveson and Kevin Kane; and numerous other family members and friends.
