West Lebanon man indicted on another burglary charge

ALFRED, Maine - A West Lebanon man who pleaded guilty in October for breaking into a Prospect Hill Road home last March has been indicted in another Lebanon burglary and theft case.

Thaddeus W. Barbour, 38, of Schoolhouse Lane, stands charged with burglary of a dwelling and theft of more than $500 value in connection with a Jan. 26 break-in.

The burglary charge carries a maximum 10-year sentence.

Barbour struck a plea deal on Oct. 15 for breaking into the Prospect Hill Road house March 19 of last year.

After his arrest a few days later he spent about four months in York County Jail until his bail was reduced in mid-July.

A second charge, theft by unauthorized taking, was dismissed for time served.

As part of the October plea deal the burglary count was given a deferred disposition to be dismissed if Barbour stayed clean for a year.

Barbour was arrested on the January charges around March 9 and held at York County Jail until March 18 when he was released on $1,000 cash bail.

The York County grand jury indictments were handed down and released on Wednesday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been received to warrant a trial.
