ROCHESTER- Summer really begins to heat up with the 4th of July holiday, and a couple of local credit unions are cooking up some summertime fun with a series of outdoor concerts and movies.
Earlier this week HRCU announced the return of its HRCU Summer Concert Series in collaboration with the Town of Barrington's Recreation Department.
The free family-oriented concert series will showcase a variety of local favorite and upcoming bands and feature food from Kozy's Pizza and George Calef Fine Foods, creating a festive atmosphere for attendees of all ages.
HRCU and other local organizations will be in attendance to distribute summer-themed promotional items. After the success of its first year, a new band pavilion was built by the Barrington Recreation Department to showcase the live performances at the Town Center located at 625 Franklin Pierce Highway in Barrington.
The concerts will be held every Thursday from July 11 to Aug. 22.
The Town Center is across from Calef's Country Store and The Christmas Dove.
Brian Hughes, president and CEO of HRCU, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Partnering with the Barrington Recreation Department to host the HRCU Summer Concert Series has been incredibly rewarding. We saw people of all ages coming together to enjoy music last summer."
The town of Barrington is also excited to host the series.
"We are thrilled to work alongside HRCU in bringing the summer concert series back to Barrington," said Recreation Department's Director, Jessica Tennis. "This initiative supports our vision of fostering a lively and interconnected community. We could not have done this without the work of our team, including Assistant Recreation Director, Sarah Bailey, along with the support of the town. We are eager to see this partnership grow and continue to provide engaging gatherings for our residents."
Seven concerts will be held on Thursday nights from 6-8 p.m. starting next Thursday.
