The Northern Seacoast may have escaped the brunt of winter's wrath thus far, but this weekend's storm will bring a touch of seasonal reality with up to a foot of snow predicted in the Rochester area followed by bitter cold that could see wind chills well below zero.
The snow will begin as flurries around dusk today and last some 14 hours into Monday, according to Accuweather.
Total accumulations are expected to be anywhere from 4-8 to 6-12 inches.
Once the snow subsides the winds will pick up and the mercury will plummet.
By 8 a.m. on Monday temperatures will hover around 12 degrees with wind gusts of around 30 mph making for a wind chill of 10 below zero.
Monday afternoon will bring plenty of sun, but the high won't get above 20 with 30 mph gusts keeping the wind chill below zero most of the day.
While the wind dies down over Monday night, the mercury will continue to drop, reaching a low of 0 by Tuesday morning around 7.
Most of Tuesday will again see plenty of sunshine but returning winds will keep the wind chill feeling below zero.
Temps will finally begin to rebound the rest of the week with highs of 18 on Wednesday, 22 on Thursday and 30 on Friday.
