ROCHESTER - Rochester's annual PorchFest music extravaganza returns to the Lilac City on Sept. 28.

The free outdoor music festival will feature more than 50 local bands, including duos and solo acts performing on more than 50 stages throughout the downtown.

Attendees can walk around and hear a little bit of everything -- from rock 'n' roll to African Marimba and everything in between.

According to organizers, the participating musicians donate their time and talents to support the Rochester Performance and Arts Center Scholarship Fund, which helps youth in the community explore their visual, musical, and performing arts passions.

The Rochester Opera House notes that every wristband purchase and donation goes directly toward assisting a student in need. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the music, discover new bands, and take part in all the other exciting activities happening at PorchFest.

Visit www.rochesteroperahouse.com for more information. The rain date is Oct. 5.
