ALTON - A Wolfeboro woman was arrested on Tuesday after police say she drove recklessly on Route 11, passing several cars in the breakdown lane as she headed west toward Alton.

The incident unfolded around 2:50 p.m. when a state trooper spotted a Subaru traveling recklessly at a high rate of speed and passing three other vehicles in the breakdown lane traveling West on Route 11. According to a Dept. of Safety statement sent Wednesday, the Subaru forced two of these vehicles to take evasive action to prevent a collision and may have made contact with one of the vehicles it was passing in the breakdown lane. The initial speed of the Subaru was clocked at 70 mph in posted 55 mph zone.

After the state trooper pulled the car, a passing motorist informed the trooper that the Subaru had run them off the road.

Hannah S. Kimball, 21, of Wolfeboro was arrested and transported to the New Durham Police Department where she was processed and bailed for reckless operation with a court date of Dec. 14 in the 4th Circuit District Court in Laconia.

Anyone who may have witnessed the Reckless Operation are encouraged to contact Trooper First Class Call at Eric.J.Call@dos.nh.gov or (603) 223-6191.
