WOLFEBORO - An elderly Wolfeboro woman was arrested for DWI on Wednesday after she collided with a State Police cruiser trying to make a traffic stop on another vehicle.
The crash occurred on Route 28 in Wolfeboro around 8:25 a.m. when police say Trooper Nathan Cobis was headed southbound and trying to execute a traffic stop with his emergency lights activated when a Chevrolet SUV pulled out in front of him from Northline Road leading to the crash.
During the course of the investigation, the driver of the Chevrolet SUV, identified as Diane Alger, 71, of Wolfeboro, said she had consumed alcohol before the crash. She was subsequently arrested by the Wolfeboro Police Department for driving while intoxicated.
Alger was uninjured as a result of the crash and was transported to Huggins Hospital for a DWI blood test. Cobis was also taken to Huggins Hospital for evaluation of injuries resulting from this crash.
