York man shot by police after brandishing gun during DV arrest

YORK, Maine - The Maine Attorney Generals Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place in York on Wednesday.
Police say the Southern Maine Special Response Team was attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Mill Lane for Domestic Violence Terrorizing around 11:20 a.m., during which Nicholas Goodwin failed to follow commands and brandished a firearm.
When Goodwin brandished the firearm, he was shot by York County Deputy Alex Markellos.
Goodwin was immediately treated on scene by tactical medics who were part of the enforcement team. Goodwin was then transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital by York Ambulance where he is currently being treated. As with any officer involved shooting the Attorney General's Office has been contacted and will be investigating the incident.
