Younger Dingman granted conditional parole

The Union Leader of Manchester is reporting that convicted killer Jeffrey A. Dingman has been granted a conditional parole in the 1996 murders of his parents inside their Rochester home.

Dingman must remain at the Calumet halfway house in Manchester until he completes counseling and life skills courses.

His tentative release date is Feb. 7, but if he has not completed the required courses to the satisfaction of the parole board, he will have to remain incarcerated until he does.

Jeffrey Dingman, who helped his older brother kill their 40-year-old parents 17 years ago, was 14 at the time. He is now 31.

His older brother, Robert, meanwhile, was 17 when the two teens, resentful of parental controls and discipline, took turns fatally shooting and taunting their mother and father on a Friday night in February. Robert Dingman was given a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

Jeffrey testified against his brother in return for a second-degree murder charge.

Jeffrey Dingman testified at the 1997 trial that his older brother instigated the killings, which they carried out using their father’s .22 caliber handgun.

After the carnage the two teenagers stuffed their parents’ dead bodies into garbage bags, putting their father’s corpse in the attic, their mother’s in the basement.

Later that night Jeffrey is said to have gone out to play basketball with friends, while his elder brother visited a girlfriend.

When parents Vance and Eve Dingman didn’t report to work the following Monday, co-workers alerted police who visited the house and found the bodies.
