ROCHESTER - Two area men have been arrested in last month’s home invasion on Portland Street in which a wheelchair-bound elderly man was robbed of prescription meds.

Jonathan A Bolz, 33, of 131 Milton Road, Apt. A, East Rochester, was apprehended on Thursday at his home and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery. Bolz was held on $25,000 cash bail.

On Friday with the assistance of Sanford Police, Daniel Springer, 22, of 206 School St., Sanford, Maine, was arrested on Fugitive from Justice charges in connection with the Rochester robbery. Once he is extradited he will be formally charged. Springer was held on no bail awaiting extradition hearings

The home invasion allegedly occurred back on June 27. Police received a call around 10 p.m. from the homeowner at 312 Portland St. stating that he was just the victim of an armed home invasion robbery.

Officers responded to the area and were advised that two males had knocked at the door of his home announcing that they were the Rochester Police.

The victim, who is wheelchair bound, was unable to look outside prior to unlocking the door. The suspects then entered the residence and one of them appeared to be armed with a small handgun, police said. The suspects ordered the victim to turn over his prescription drugs and ransacked the home, locating a quantity of prescription drugs and then left on foot.
