LEBANON - A charity softball game between the Lebanon Fire Department and Gilpatrick Property Service, a local property maintenance company, is hoping to collect money for Lebanon’s Summer Rec Camp and toys and food for the needy.

“It’s just something we thought we could do to help, and have some fun,” said Chris Gilpatrick Sr., who made the announcement at Tuesday’s selectmen’s meeting.

The game will be played on Sunday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m., at the STS field off Route 202 in East Lebanon.

Unwrapped toys collected will go to the Toys for Lebanon Kids program sponsored by the Lebanon Fire Department Corporation.

Nonperishable food items will go directly to local food pantries.

Organizers are looking for businesses and others to sponsor individual innings for $50. Sponsors can also sign up to donate $10 per home run hit in an inning, with a maximum of five home runs for $50.

For more information on sponsoring an inning, contact Andy Noyes at 207.651.1834.

Hot dogs, hamburgers and soft drinks will also be available during the game.
