The Southern Maine Garden Club will hold its annual Garden Party and Membership Drive at the Belgian Meadows Farm in Lebanon on Wednesday, Aug. 28, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Garden Party is the club’s annual Membership Drive and all are invited to attend.  Attendees can enjoy a light dinner, get tours of the farm by the owner Steve Collins and meet his beautiful Belgian horses Molly, Jesse and Jake. He will also conduct “Surrey with the fringe on top” carriage rides around the farm.

The SMGC also holds its annual Hat Contest, and there are three categories where prizes are awarded: Most Creative, Funniest and Most Elegant. All members and SMGC wannabes are invited to wear a garden hat for judging.

SMGC meets throughout the year at the Springvale Library on the third Wednesday of every month beginning at 6:45 p.m. (unless otherwise noted). The public is invited to attend to sample our meetings to see if they would like to join. For more info, contact in ME – Mary Saltmarsh at 207-324-5394 or in NH – Donna Claveau at 603-332-4860.

Belgian Meadows Farm is located at 279 Merchants Row. For directions, visit www.belgianmeadowsfarm.com.
