Accident takes down utility pole, snarls traffic

ROCHESTER - A single-car crash on Rochester Hill Road early this morning caused a power outage and threatened to clog traffic near the area of Tibbetts Road where the accident occurred for much of the day.

According to Rochester Police the accident occurred around 6:45 a.m. when a 1995 Ford Probe driven by Sien Je Oroh, 53, of 45 New Rochester Road, Dover, went off the road while traveling northbound and struck a utility pole.

Je Oroh’s vehicle suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene. There were no injuries sustained from this incident.  The utility pole was broken, and utility crews were quickly on scene repairing the damage.

Power was interrupted from the accident scene south into Somersworth.  

 The accident is still under investigation as to the cause.  Drivers should seek alternative routes during the road closure.
